The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady Caverswall Set of 12 Thimbles

Edith Holden's diary for the year 1906 was issued in a full-colour edition in 1977 by Webb and Bower, under the name "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady", and was an instant success. In it, she recorded the flora and fauna of the British Countryside through the seasons of the year, in beautiful paintings and calligraphy.

This is a series of 12 thimbles by Caverswall of England, representing the months of the year, produced for the Thimble Collectors Club. Each thimble is decorated with a thick gilded line around the base, the name of the month and a saying and pictures of Birds, Animals or Fruit, associated with that month. The inside of each is stamped with "Caverswall England" and "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady Webb & Bower Ltd 1977" and each thimble is approximately 25mm tall by 20mm base diameter.

The thimbles are in excellent condition, with no chips, holes or repairs, they are not in the original boxes, but will be supplied well packed for posting. There is also a small 12 space wooden wall hanging display available if wanted.
