Stratnoid Aluminium Alloy Metal Thimble Size 3 - 9

This is a Stratnoid metal thimble which is made from an aluminium alloy called Duralim, this makes them light and easy to use, but strong and durable. The thimble has a plain band around the base with "Stratnoid England" stamped in a lozenge shape on it with the size marks "3" and "9" on either side of that. Above this the thimble has a traditional dimpled pattern. There are no makers marks on the thimble, but Stratnoid thimbles were produced in Birmingham between 1922 and 1941. The thimble is approximately 22mm tall by 17mm base diameter. The thimble is in excellent condition, with no chips, holes or repairs, it is not in the original box, but will be supplied in a clear perspex thimble dome which is suitable for storage or display. The thimble dome is approximately 32mm wide and 48mm high.
